Wilson Mountain

Four Season Guides

Hike Description

If you’re looking for a more physically demanding hike and some of the most panoramic views in the Sedona area, then Wilson Mountain is for you. The hike begins in Sedona’s famous red rocks and climbs through sunny slopes of chaparral forest. It’s a 2300 foot climb to the summit but you’ll be treated to beautiful vistas right from the beginning. We will break regularly to catch our breaths and marvel at the scenery. Our goal is the Sedona Overlook (7000 feet elevation) where you will be rewarded with views that stretch over hundreds of square miles of scenic canyon country. After a delicious picnic lunch at the summit, we will slowly make our way back down to the trailhead. *This hike is not recommended in the summer months (mid-June through early September).
